Secretary of State Jay Dardenne will join Mayor-President Kip Holden in kicking off the Fireball Run Road Rally at the Old State Capitol at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27. The Fireball Run is an annual event promoting national awareness for the Child Rescue Network's "Race to Recover America's Missing Children" campaign.

In an effort to educate all museum personnel about the functions of the Secretary of State's Office, Secretary of State Jay Dardenne held the inaugural Museum Summit on Monday and Tuesday, June 25 and 26 at the Louisiana State Archives. Representatives from museums in the Secretary of State's Museum Program expressed their thoughts about each museum's identity, mission and goals.

Secretary of State Jay Dardenne is pleased to announce the hiring of Cliff Deal as museums coordinator. Deal, who is currently on the Louisiana Association of Museums Council, began work May 14 to oversee the museum program's curatorial needs.

Feb. 9, 2007

Secretary of State Jay Dardenne will swear in the governing board of the Spring Street Historical Museum on Feb. 13 as part of his visit to the Shreveport/Bossier City area. Secretary Dardenne will also address Caddo and Bossier Parish students and the Downtown Rotary Club, and will attend the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum's annual legislative dinner.
