MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTERS

The Federal voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website provides information to U. S. citizens covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee voting Act (UOCAVA).  This includes:

  • U. S. citizens who are members of the Uniformed Services and their family member.
  • U. S. citizens who reside outside the United States.

Uniformed Services are defined as:

  • U. S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard),
  • Merchant marine,
  • Commissioned corps of the Public Health Service,
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Remember you are not registered to vote until your application is received and processed by your parish registrar of voters office.  You should receive a voter registration card within 30 days.
