Chennault Room

View artifacts, photographs, trophies and other memorabilia of Gen. Claire Lee Chennault, leader of the famous "Flying Tigers." The "Flying Tigers," a fighter squadron formed by the American Volunteer Group, kept the Japanese from taking over Mainland China during WWII. Displays in the Chennault Room were created by Gen. Chennault's daughter, Rosemary Chennault Simrall and granddaughter, Nell Calloway.

Military Heroes

All branches of the service are represented in this exhibit including stories from individuals who have served our country. Learn about the men and women who served on the front lines and those in support roles behind the scenes.

Pioneers of Aviation

This exhibit chronicles the advances of aviation from pipeline observation, mail service, the foundation of Delta Airlines, originally based in Monroe, and space travel, highlighting astronaut Jim Halsell, a Louisiana native.

Selman Field

Step back in time when the museum building was used as part of the first navigator training base in the country. Fifteen thousand navigators were trained at Selman Field and later deployed to bases throughout the world. Displays include photographs of entertainers sent to boost the morale of the troops, a diorama of the base and navigator tools.
