RECORDS MANAGEMENT

The Records Management section provides:

  • Records Management related training for statewide and local agencies;
  • Assists in the development of agency records retention schedules;
  • Processes agency disposal requests;
  • Provides advice to agencies regarding records management related issues through rules, publications, policies and meetings. 
  • Provides records-related assistance and information to state and local agencies following disasters.

NOTE: This section does not provide assistance with Corporations records, or with genealogical or birth records. Please contact the Corporations Section (225) 925-4704 or the Archives Research Room (225) 922-1207 for those inquiries.
