EXHIBIT - "40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS: The Artistic resiliency of louisiana" - A Collaboration of New Orleans artists, the Louisiana State Archives, and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
It is the story of Hurricane Katrina, the worst natural disaster to hit the United States of America. The exhibit examines the storm's effect on the rebuilding of society, as seen through the eyes, the heart, and the soul of Louisiana artisans. Art disciplines include photography, film and video, painting, illustration, clay art, tapestry, glass, jewelry, literature, poetry, theatre, music, and dance. Some of the most respected artists and curators in southeastern Louisiana curate their discipline, bringing together the work of the most promising artists of our generation.
